DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Concrete:
Use a placeable and finishable concrete mix of the required strength design with a slump not to exceed 5 inches and with no more than 3% - 6% entrained air.
First Application:
The Color hardener must obtain all its moisture from the base slab. The addition of any water will destroy the integrity of the wearing surface and cause bond failure. When most of the bleed water has evaporated from the surface of the concrete, cast on the color hardener allowing the material to sift through the gloved fingers while moving the hand. Apply uniformly at a rate of 30-40 Lbs. per 100 sq. ft.. Apply to areas adjacent to walls, columns, forms and doorways as soon as possible as these areas lose moisture more rapidly. As soon as the colorhardener has absorbed moisture from the concrete beneath (noticeable by a darkening of the surface), float the surface just enough to bring the moisture through the colorhardener and to achieve a “Paste”.
Second Application:
The second application is then applied immediately so it can absorb the moisture through the first application before it evaporates.
Apply the second application at right angles to the first for more even color and thickness. Apply uniformly at a rate of 20-30 Lbs. per 100 sq. ft.. When the second application has absorbed moisture (indicated by darkening of the surface), float the surface again.
Touch up:
Next, immediately apply colorhard to any light areas and edges, wait for the moisture to absorb into them and float entire surface using a round edged steel Fresno. Your edging should also be done at this time.
Stamp Finishes:
After sufficient bleed water has evaporated from the slab, apply a coat of powdered release agent.
Coverage:
Heavy Duty Industrial Use: 80-100 pounds per 100 sq. ft. of surface area.
Medium Duty Industrial Use: 55-80 pounds per 100 sq. ft. of surface area.
Light Colors: 80-100 pounds per 100 sq. ft. of surface area is the minimum to achieve uniform color over a gray concrete slab.
